The course in cultural studies introduces students
to the concepts of modern cultural knowledge, the typology and norms of
culture, the history of world culture, works of art, artefacts of spiritual and
material culture, the history and achievements of Kazakh culture at present.
The course focuses on the current cultural situation in Kazakhstan, state
cultural programmes, the study of cultural space, cultural memory, cultural
brands, the place and role of cultural institutions in society, cultural
industry and creative culture. The course focuses on patriotic education
through the spiritual and material culture and values of the Kazakh people, and
an understanding of processes in the cultural space related to current trends
in global development.
